The journal Dataset Reports has officially become part of the Brazilian Qualis CAPES system for the 2021–2024 four-year period, with placement in stratum C.

The journal was evaluated and classified across several fields of knowledge, highlighting its multidisciplinary profile and the thematic breadth of the studies it publishes. The CAPES evaluation areas in which the Dataset Reports received a classification are:

• Environmental Sciences

• Food Science

• Education

• Teaching

• Interdisciplinary

• Urban and Regional Planning / Demography

• Chemistry

Although this is an initial classification, the result represents an important milestone for the journal, especially as it was launched in 2023 and is still in the process of consolidation within the national scientific landscape. Inclusion in the Qualis CAPES system reflects institutional recognition of the journal and reinforces its commitment to editorial quality, transparency, and the dissemination of reliable and reproducible scientific data.

The editorial team views this classification as part of a continuous growth process and reaffirms its commitment to improving editorial criteria, expanding indexation, and strengthening the journal’s scientific visibility, with the aim of achieving better evaluations in future Qualis cycles.
